Perla del Mare sits right on the sandy shore of Alykanas, on the green, low-key northeast side of Zakynthos. In front of the resort the bay is shallow, calm and ideal for early swims; a short stroll along the sand brings you to the little fishing harbour, where the day-boats tie up and the tavernas open onto the water.
This part of the island is the gentle one — olive groves and small family hotels rather than nightlife — yet you're only a few minutes from the long sandy beaches of Alikes and Tsilivi. Zakynthos Town and the airport are both around half an hour by car, so you can be by the pool the same afternoon you land.
